Rain and Animal Chimney Covers

All chimneys must be covered to prevent issues caused by wind, rain, snow and animal entry. Wind blowing down an open chimney will cause smoke to backup into the home. Moisture from rain and snow causes the chimney to erode; in addition to developing mould and rust. Moisture also causes damage to the chimney when it freezes and thaws during the winter months. An open chimney is also a great location for animals, especially raccoons, squirrels and birds to build a nest for having babies and raising them. Moreover, there is the potential of the animals getting trapped inside creating unpleasant consequences (see animals). All chimney covers are made from either aluminum or stainless steel and are installed by our technicians who carry the various regular sizes with them at all times. If necessary, custom sizes can be ordered.
